Although this methodology has been around for a while, Brian Dean popularized it as the “Skyscrape Method.” Here’s how it works: Go out and find articles in your niche that have attracted lots of backlinks, create very similar content that is better is a variety of ways (better images, more detail, longer, more complete etc). Then you email everyone who linked to the original one and ask them to link to yours as well, since yours is better.
On top of that, you’ll be able to naturally attract backlinks as that type of content is already proven to get backlinks!
2. Broken Link Building
Broken link building has a few different types here’s a few that you can use:
Resource Page Broken Link Building
The concept is to find resource pages that link out to a lot of websites, check for broken links on that page, create content that matches that link and reach out.
Out of business broken link building
The concept here is to find businesses in your nice that went out of business or changed their name, look up their backlinks, recreate content that they used to have on their site, and reach out to get their backlinks.

3. Give Out Testimonials In Exchange For Links
This concept is pretty easy – Make a list of all the software and services you use, give out testimonials to them and ask them for a link in exchange for the testimonial.
4. Use PR
The concept is to get a haro account, reach out to pitch your authority on a subject when an story comes in, and if you get it, they will often include a link to your site in the article where you are quoted.

5. Curate Content as an Ultimate Guide
Epic content attracts links, especially when you use a title like “Ultimate Guide”. The problem it takes a long time to create that content. So what do you do? Curate it and just provide links to all the resources that have already been created!
6. Reclaim Unlinked Mentions
The concept here is to search for when your brand was mentioned online that doesn’t include a link, reach out and ask for the link. Easy enough 🙂

9. Reach Out For Other People To Interview You
The title pretty much says it all. Podcasts and Bloggers are always looking for new content, and if you can provide expertise and free content, you can get links.
